The story behind Tonika

It all starts with the note. Color formulas on post-its, in a binder, in someone's memory — until they disappear. Tonika was born from a simple idea: the craft deserves better tools than a box of old notes.

We build Tonika together with hairdressers, for hairdressers. Everything in the app is there because it solves a real problem on the salon floor — customer records, inventory, AI suggestions and OCR of old formulas. Nothing for show.

Three principles

  • Simplicity

    Every feature is tested against a single requirement: does it make the job easier? If not, it's not in the app.

  • Privacy

    Your customer data is yours. Swedish hosting, GDPR, and isolated accounts — nothing is shared.

  • Craft

    We respect the hairdressing profession. Tonika should support the skill, never replace it.

Who builds Tonika?

A small company, close to the craft

Tonika is developed by MR IT AB — a Swedish software company based in Täby, founded and run by Magnus Rusk. We build Tonika in close dialogue with hairdressers: a small team, short decision paths, and a genuine interest in the craft.
